About Days of Repentance
Days of Repentance was a result of prayer intercessors that all felt that a momentum is building that “now” is the time to call for a national convocation or day of repentance. A number of strategic prayer leaders have a sense that time is closing quickly and that it behooves us as at a national level to humble ourselves, seek God’s face, repent, turn from wickedness and implore God to hear our prayers and heal our land. (2 Chron. 7:14)
Urgency seems to be the pressing issue. With that in mind Promise Keepers along with other national ministries are contemplating a time of repentance that would precede our national conference in Boulder, Colorado on Friday July 31. PK has already secured facilities at Folsom Field in Boulder that we would like to make available for such a catalytic event and time.
Mr. Richard Simmons, Men for Nations, and Gary Hines - National Prayer Coordinator were making initial contacts with key national prayer leaders to inquire as to their availability, willingness to contact their constituency to encourage participation and support of such event.
Specific target areas are not nailed down, however areas that have referenced in preliminary conversations include: repentance for families, repentance for division between believing Jew and believing Gentile, repentance for having forsaken responsibility to “the least of these”, prayer to restore the foundations of our nation, to repair the gaps in the wall, and prayer to revive the faint hearted.
